Old

As the end of my school term comes closer and closer... I feel like it is creeping up on me and then is suddenly going to jump out of a bush and frighten me... I am looking forward, more and more, to going back to Bend for the summer. It's nice to be somewhere that you know intimately, but that still surprises you sometimes. I just want to be somewhere where I have hideouts for when I am upset or want some time alone and places where I can meet with old friends.
I also can't wait to visit all my favorite photo places and start shooting. Though it may be a cold summer... it snowed there yesterday, but i still can't wait to get back to home and leave work at work.

Colorless

I have never been much of a fan of self-portraits, but I found that there was no better picture available to show my exhaustion today, but one of myself. I don't know where this exhaustion has come from, but it feels like it is in my soul today.

An All-American Game, Sometimes

As promised, some things about today... I spent the day with family, my mom, stepdad, and grandfather were all up here to watch my younger brother play baseball, something I have missed for the last few years, so I joined them. My brother and I have a tendancy to goof off with each other, he is more like a good friend than a brother.

This was one of those goof off moments, I think he may have said something along the lines, "You're going to take my picture, aren't you? I know you want to..." when he saw my camera, so just because he had suggested it, I did take his picture.

I picked up these lovely bubblegum pink shoes off of hawthorne yesterday. Why would anyone get rid of such beautiful shoes!

My final word for today is to post the song that I imediately put on this morning when I decided I needed to wake up and get out of bed (It has also been stuck in my head for the last few days) They may be old, but Supertramp still seems to have a modern relevance to me... maybe its that I listened to them all the time as I was growing up and this song has always been one of my favorites, enjoy!
I'm sorry, my computer skills are horrible and I could not, for the life of me figure out how to get it to be on this page, but this is a great song! I encourage you to give it a listen.

Sunshine

Yesterday I went to Hawthorne, an artsy part of town and walked around with a good friend of mine, Rachel. We visited some great places! Including one that she and Nicole talked about earlier on their blog, the Waffle Window! This was seriously the best waffle I have ever had! And it came covered in strawberries and whipped cream, oh goodness. Rachel got the hot fudge sundae waffle, which explains itself. We then headed back over the river and wandered the residential streets of Northwest Portland, and to finish this day, we met up with Nicole and went for some more delicious food at the Stepping Stone Cafe. Overall a great day... that felt like the summer that isn't here yet. Today was just as wonderful in a very different way, so I think I will save it for later tonight.

Views

After cleaning today, I sat down and realized that between the dark, greyness that has been hanging aroung the skies lately, there have been moments of summer sunshine, fleeting, but there. They get me ready for the time when I feel most at-ease to take pictures outside my room... until then, I'll let you enjoy these small moments from inside my room, inspired by a small bit of sunshine that screamed of summer.

Short Stories

This is the story of my grey, rainy day; and being grey and rainy is not a bad thing to me. The day started with me looking out the window at a foggy city, covered in clouds and raindrops, I put my hand out the window to feel the cool dampness of a springtime raindrop and then stuck my feet in my tennies and walked down the damp sidewalks of Portland. Unfortunately, my feet did not remain as dry as the rest of me under my raincoat.
I just want the warm, summer rains to come. I am waiting.

No title found

I am quite ashamed of myself... it has been over a week since my last post. But it has been a busy week that somehow turned me into a hermit. But hopefully I will get out of my room this coming week (in between the homework) and spend some now much-needed time with friends.
PS I have included some photos from my quiet confinement to my room... it was laundry day on Tuesday.
