Strange

I'm missing the colors of autumn. Maybe it's just because it's been raining so much here. I just want that feeling back (not that I think I really felt much of autumn this year).

In other news:

Have you seen the movie Amelie? It's adorable, I watched it over the winter break and I would recommend it to everyone.

Tonight

Pearls and Lace

I am getting all dressed up tonight for a dinner party that one of my friends is throwing. a black lace dress and pearls. I love having excuses to dress up.

Friday

The weekend has finally begun! I think the first week of the term is always the hardest, you have new professors to deal with, a new schedule to figure out, and new work to do. I'm exhausted, this term I have morning classes everyday... which is nice... except that I'm not much of a morning person. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Something I feel like I haven't done in over a week.

Back to the Routine

I returned to Portland on Sunday and have since been looking through one of my favorite Christmas presents... a Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. I know... it's a little weird. I always loved going through my mom's and now I have my own and can try as many recepies as I want. Tonight I made a loaf of lemon bread. I think I'm starting to figure out my oven... it likes to bake things too quickly. Also this week school started up again, I'm already putting off my reading, taking naps after class (and almost during a couple of them), and finding ways to do as little work as possible. I am such a horrible student sometimes.

I feel like so much is left unsaid. Why can't I speak?

The New Year

I feel as if nothing has changed. This year, though, I'm going to do all the things I regret not doing this year. I'm tired of having regrets, tired of how I live my life. Not all of it, just parts. It's not really a resolution, just something I'm trying to work on. I'll have some film to share with you, hopefully tomorrow, that's a little more wintry than these photos from my trip to Idaho. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy these.
