I used to drink tea almost everyday, lately I've decided to start drinking it again. A great decision.

I forgot my camera today, so these were taken with my phone. I went over to Stepping Stone to work on some homework, I just needed a change of scenery to get myself to actually get something done. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

A Favorite

One of my favorite photos by one of my current favorite photographers, Annette Pehrsson. I love this picture, but it makes me a little bit sad right now.

I like this more than anything else I've taken in months. The worst part about that is that I took it with my left hand on the shutter so my camera was upside down. I never realized how hard it was for me to get a picture of my right hand, or do dishes (which how I cut my finger) apparently.

Today I got a very exciting package in the mail. Some oxfords, which I have been wanting for months (not this particular pair, but anything similar, really). I'm excited beyond belief and am promptly going to begin wearing them everyday.

Out of the Cave

Sometimes I look through all my old pictures and I am amazed at what I was able to take as a kid. I think part of it is that I don't look at the giant stacks of pictures that aren't that great, and another part is that for a couple of years I had access to free film and free developing, so I just snapped away. But the days I took the best pictures were when I was trying to remember places I hadn't ever been before. These were all taken when I was really young, I think maybe between 8 and 11? I feel like they're somehow better than the pictures I take now, like I've lost something that made them better. Maybe it's because I have so many memories associated with these pictures.

I just deleted almost 200 photos from my flickr. It felt so good.

Sometimes it feels like my heart skips a beat.
It's quite unnerving.
It makes me wonder what others are feeling.

There has to be more to life.

There's sunshines and a sunset out today. It's lovely, I miss the light sometimes, although it's supposedly spring here in Portland. There are things budding and beginning to grow already.

Johan und Briggette

I don't usually get to do anything fun for school anymore. But this term I get to make a children's book for my German class. I'm taking the opportunity to make it as wonderful as possible. It's about a boy who is looking for a lost sheep. When he finds her, he discovers that she can talk and they then become friends. Not the most original story, I know, but putting anything into German is hard for me, so this isn't too bad. I also accidentally spelt Brigette with two g's which as far as I know isn't a normal spelling, but doesn't affect the pronunciation so, my sheep has a weird spelling variation to her name... oh well.

I may disappear for a while, this weekend brought lots of things... I don't really know what to think right now.

Good Morning

Morning Coffee

This morning's breakfast. Toast, yogurt with the last of my strawberry jam, and coffee.

Hold me close

I'm missing the colors of autumn. Maybe it's just because it's been raining so much here. I just want that feeling back (not that I think I really felt much of autumn this year).

In other news:

Have you seen the movie Amelie? It's adorable, I watched it over the winter break and I would recommend it to everyone.

Pearls and Lace

I am getting all dressed up tonight for a dinner party that one of my friends is throwing. a black lace dress and pearls. I love having excuses to dress up.

The weekend has finally begun! I think the first week of the term is always the hardest, you have new professors to deal with, a new schedule to figure out, and new work to do. I'm exhausted, this term I have morning classes everyday... which is nice... except that I'm not much of a morning person. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Something I feel like I haven't done in over a week.

Back to the Routine

I returned to Portland on Sunday and have since been looking through one of my favorite Christmas presents... a Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. I know... it's a little weird. I always loved going through my mom's and now I have my own and can try as many recepies as I want. Tonight I made a loaf of lemon bread. I think I'm starting to figure out my oven... it likes to bake things too quickly. Also this week school started up again, I'm already putting off my reading, taking naps after class (and almost during a couple of them), and finding ways to do as little work as possible. I am such a horrible student sometimes.

Clouds Like Marshmallows

I feel like so much is left unsaid. Why can't I speak?
