Recently

I received a free Pictoral Webster's poster in the mail. I'm in love with the illustration... how did they randomly send me such an appropriate one? I also made a really boring cardboard box a little prettier with some origami paper and a paper bag. Nothing all that exciting just little things that excite me. I have to admit that right now I am a little to excited for a study project I'm working on... I'm making a wall of human skeletal anatomy! I know... not many people find this all that exciting (it makes me want to jump up and down with excitement), in fact some might even say it's creepy. I doubt anyone will really know what they are though, I really can't draw well. I mean when an art teacher tells you you can't draw, you know you really can't draw.

Results

This is what has resulted from me staying up late and trying to create something I like. Which I was partly successful at. I just realized that I told Shawn today that I don't draw. Because I don't. Normally. And if I do they are not very good. I'm still a hypocrite, aren't I? Oh, well, I've gotten used to that. I think they look better in the pictures... which is a little sad... My favorite is by far the first one. Maybe I'll go to sleep now.
I've noticed that when I become very tired I either begin to ramble and use never-ending sentences, or, be short and to the point, like I was tonight, but now I'm getting rambly. Oh dear!

Some beautiful drawings for a beautiful day

I don't remember where I first heard about Mia Nolting, but I know that I love all of her drawings. In fact I have one as my computer's background right now. I have been meaning to talk about her for quite some time, but have had so many other things to talk about that it somehow got pushed to the back of my mind. Anyway, I decided that these drawings really matched the wonderful day I had today.

Oh dear!

Ok, so I lied, here I am, later the same day, posting again, but after this, I really am going to take a bit of a break. I just wanted to let anyone interested know that I posted some new postcards in my Etsy shop. Please at least take a look.

Thanks!

Invitations

So, as I mentioned here, I am planning, way in advance for my birthday which is still over a month from now. This morning I made some invitations. Just thought I would share them. I think I may disappear for a few days, I need a bit of a break.

Etsy

You may remember me talking about making postcards, back in May. (If not, check it out here) Well, I told Rachel that I would begin to sell them on Etsy... And I have finally set up shop. Check out my shop here.

Inspiration

I apologize for the double posting today. I know I have been posting a lot, but I really felt I needed to post this right now. At some point tonight it rained a little bit and I was sitting outside right afterward, the smell was amazing. It's one of my favorite smells, I just wish that I could somehow reproduce it. Anyway, after this, while I was sitting on the back step, the sprinklers turned on and the pattern that they made on our back patio was for some reason very inspiring to me, it was creeping along in that way that water has. I took this inspiration and decided to re-do the wall in my room where I put up things that inspire me (as I hadn't in over a year). In case you are wondering about half of the things on there now are Marc Jacobs ads, because I love his clothes and also really enjoy Juergen Teller's photos. That then inspired me to make a new piece of art... let me know what you think, please! That is all I had to say for now.

Night!

Thoughts about things

So people are walking around, all of the world, with the huge, expensive super nice cameras... it makes me jealous. Mostly because they buy these super nice, high quality cameras and lenses and then don't learn how to use them, they just set everything to auto and push a button down. I'm sorry, if this applies to you, I understand you want a nice quality to your family photos, but if you are going to buy a nice camera, please, instead of ripping my heart out and stomping on it, learn to use it at least a little bit.

Wow that sounded kind of harsh, but it's just my opinion...

So, my least favorite class led me to two different but amazing things today, the first is an artist, Marta Sanchez, from Panama.

I love her designs and the colors she uses, her artwork just makes me happy.

The second thing that I discovered, well had heard of before but am now doing a project on, is guerrilla gardening. Guerrilla gardeners re-claim unused soil and dirt in urban areas by planting in them. I am going to be doing this myself, hopefully, sometime in the next few weeks, for a class project. We haven't decided exactly where yet, but anyone in Portland (Oregon, that is) that is interested is welcome to come, we may ask, however for a small donation toward our plant-buying fund. I'll probably have more to say in the next week or so...

That's in Toronto and I just can't wait to do something, maybe not quite this cool, but still pretty amazing.
